- While silicone sponge material is being suggested for thermal interface management in battery packs, it is important to understand some salient features of silicone elastomers and the uniqueness of Saint-Gobain’s formulation technology to this particular application. In addition to the inherent material property of silicones, Saint-Gobain’s innovative compounding and proprietary process has transformed a silicone material in such a way to impart properties specific to thermal management, electrical insulation and vibration dampening.
