The Significance and Preparation of Classified Test Contaminants

The tolerance of hydraulic system components to contaminants can be evaluated by using standard Classified Test Contaminants (CTC). To perform this evaluation, particle size distributions with a top-size classification most accurately simulate hydraulic system contamination. A standard must be established for classified test contaminants to insure that the hydraulic industry is supplied with suitable test materials.
