- The tolerance of hydraulic system components to contaminants can be evaluated by using standard Classified Test Contaminants (CTC). To perform this evaluation, particle size distributions with a top-size classification most accurately simulate hydraulic system contamination. A standard must be established for classified test contaminants to insure that the hydraulic industry is supplied with suitable test materials.
