This paper gives a brief review of the thirty year's history of Chinese Automotive Industry dated from the laying of the foundation stone of the First Motor Works in July, 1953. Within this period, the industry experienced three stages of development and growth. The main tasks faced by the Chinese automotive industry today are discussed in detail. There is a bright prospect for the Chinese automotive industry and full confidence is placed in its development and growth before the end of the century. An expanding horizon of friendly cooperation with international colleagues is expected.
