- The current trend from hydromechanical to computer based engine controls is creating the need for high production volume, low cost, electronic sensors and actuators. These components must match the reliability and durability of the engine to which they are mounted. This paper outlines the heavy duty diesel engine environment and uses the development of a throttle position sensor as an example of the unique specifications required for some components.
