S-92 Integrated Product Development

From 1994 to the present, Sikorsky Aircraft and its international partners, have collaborated on the design, development and manufacture of the S-92 helicopter. During the time period of April 1997 to December 1998, major sections of five (5) prototype aircraft will be manufactured around the world. Subsequently, the sections will be delivered to Sikorsky Aircraft for final assembly. Sikorsky Aircraft has teamed with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) of Japan, Aero Industry Development Center (AIDC) of Taiwan, Gamesa Producciones Aeronauticas (GAMESA) of Spain, Jingdezhen Helicopter Group (JHG) of China, and Empresa Brasileira De Aeronautica (EMBRAER) of Brazil to accomplish this task.
