Abstract
Content

An investigation has been conducted using wind-tunnel tests and analytical methods to determine the mutual interference of a single main rotor and fuselage. The wind-tunnel tests included models with 3.15 meter and 1.0 meter diameter rotors. Test parameters included rotor-fuselage separation, fuselage width, and rotor thrust. Time-averaged fuselage surface pressure and flow-field calculations were obtained using a modified inviscid flow panel method. Fuselage downloads were calculated using an empirical strip analysis download computer program.
