Rotor Aerodynamics and Acoustics-The Next Phase

Jones: As seems always to be the case I must begin my paper with apologies, two this time: the first for not yet providing the written version, the second for not sticking to the title. For the first I can only plead the pressure of other work and ask to be excused. For the second fact Sheila is really responsible and it is only out of chivalry that I allowed it to stand. I am not going to talk solely about acoustics; the aims of this meeting allow me to do that. My final apology is to those colleagues whose work and slides I have borrowed or stolen in order to make the lecture possible.
