Authors Abstract
Content
The rotary combustion engine system in the NSU Spider represents the first automotive application of this type of engine. The advantages of the rotary versus reciprocating engine in smaller sports cars are described, including details covering engine layout of components and accessories and test stand results. It is anticipated that future development in this area will be directed toward the achievement of a low cost mass production version of the rotary engine.
