Abstract
Content
In order to study the applicability of powder forging to bearing and connecting rod, the manufacturing conditions related to the cleanliness of the powder and the influence of the sintering atmosphere on rolling contact fatigue property was examined.
As the results of this test, it was found that the rolling contact fatigue property of powder forged material which was prepared using ‘clean’ 4600 powder and vacuum sintering was equal to the longitudinal direction property of vacuum degassed low alloy steel which has been conventionally used for the heavy load bearing.
