Abstract
Content
Serviceability is a prime concern of the machine design engineer. Initial cost of the machine, its efficiency, and performance characteristics are only part of the true value received. Standardization and/or design and placement of components to allow use of existing service tools or causing minimum design of new tools -- either “essential” or “convenience” -- enhances productivity, value, and decreased overall cost.
Discussed will be:
  • The Role of the Tool Manufacturer
  • Timing
  • Equipping the Dealer for Service
