Robotic Welding of Sheet Metal Parts Using the GTAW Process

A successful robotic welding system using the gas tungsten arc welding process for welding of gas turbine engine, sheet metal components, has been implemented. Consideration to part configuration, definition of system requirements, development of the user interface, establishment of the justification philosophy, careful preparation of the bid specification, concluding with the system buyoff, ensured the successful implementation of the system.
