- Subsystem testing, as a crucial engineering phase in the development process of the On Board Data Handling (OBDH) subsystem to ensure product quality, is increasingly valued by engineering organizations. The OBDH subsystem, apart from its characteristics of embedded software and FPGA with strong real-time performance and close hardware relations, also features multiple external interfaces, large communication data volumes, and frequent software changes. These factors highlight the significant challenges in testing the OBDH subsystem, making it essential to develop a theoretical framework and methods to guide the testing process. Following the principles of the Director’s Order No. 7 for full-cycle and multi-dimensional work, and based on the testing characteristics of the OBDH subsystem, a full-cycle testing model for the OBDH subsystem has been established. This paper presents comprehensive research and practical implementation of OBDH subsystem testing from three aspects: test environment establishment, test method implementation, and test experience summarization.
