- The development of passenger cars is characterized by advanced aerodynamics, variable engine controls, devices to reduce particulate emission, engine management systems and higher safety by means of improved driver information.New technologies to achieve these goals are the extensive use of electronics, alternative materials and advanced methods. In the long term, systems such as convoy pilot may solve traffic problems, and vehicles with hybrid power plant (combustion engine plus electric motor) could help to reduce the problems of smog and CO2.
