The Replacement of Parabolic Reflectors by “Free Form” Reflectors

During the last years the reflector shape of a headlamp mutated from a parabolic to a “free-form” (FF). The paper presents the manifold applications of FF-reflectors in automotive headlamps and the FF reflector design with the CAL system HELIOS.
