- The effective conductor of the rectangular inductor has been simplified, in this paper, to a long and straight current- carrying conducting wire and the mathematical expression of which is of guidance in the design of isothermal heating inductor for axles with variable sections. The rectangular inductor applies cyclic pulse heating-up, which is characterized by a decreased portion in induction current direct heating and an increased portion in conduction heating. Under certain conditions, therefore, a comparatively high power-supply current frequency should be selected to achieve the best power efficiency. The correctness of the above exposition has been proved both by a series of data from specimen tests and by mass production of various parts.
