- In response to the stringent environmental regulations and waste disposal problems of hazardous strontium chromate in coatings systems, a novel chromate-free technology has been developed. This unique alternative has led to waterborne low density non-chromate primers successfully meeting MIL-P-85582B Type I and Type II Class N Specification. Similarly a solvent based counterpart has also been formulated. It is intended for MIL-P-23377G Type I Class N Specification. In addition to the anti-corrosive properties, this experimental coating shows superb solvent and Skydrol resistance. Both systems are compatible with MIL-C-85285B urethane topcoats.
