- DATA in this report represent work carried out in accordance with assignments made in the first report of the C.F.R. Committee presented at the 1936 Annual Meeting of the Society, as follows:

1.
Establish the validity of the C.F.R. Recommended Procedure for Rating Fuels in Full-Scale Aircraft Engines for fuels above 87 octane number.

2.
Conduct full-scale engine tests in the range from 87 octane number to the highest octane number available.

3.
Concurrently with Assignment 1, develop or revise knock-test methods leading to correlation with full-scale engine data.
The data presented are in accordance with Assignments 1 and 2, and the data required for Assignment 3 have been obtained in part. Further tests on olefinic fuels are reported. -
