The Rahad Irrigation Project covers an area over 1200 square miles. It is designed to grow cotton and peanuts with the first plantings in 1976. Excavation for the main supply canal required over 20 million cubic yards of earthmoving.
An International Consultant had a major role in planning, equipment selection, and maintenance procedures.
