Authors Abstract
Content
The simulated effects of space environment, in particular space radiation, on materials of spacecrafts are evaluated and discussed. Methods and tools used for evaluating this environment and its effects are described. Computer-based methods have been adopted, developed and applied to a selection of relevant problems occurring in scientific and extraterrestrial space projects. The test method that involves test planning, test and evaluation is described in principle. Special information on radiation induced outgassing is given for fluoropolymers.
