R-OAT: A Rotary Head Digital Audio Taperecorder for Consumer Use

A world wide standard for a digital audio taperecorder has been realized. This system for recording and reproducing audio signals with Compact Disc quality can be applied in HiFi equipment, car equipment, as well as in portable equipment. In relation with the well known compact cassette the size of the cassette has been almost halved and the tapeconsumption decreased by a factor of three, Prerecorded tapes can be provided.
