- A new family of olefin-based engineering polymer alloys has been developed which shows promise for use in automotive interiors. The technology of the polymers is reviewed. In order to help determine the recyclability of these alloys, two experiments to determine the compatibility of the alloys with other commonly-used automotive interior resins were performed. One of the alloys is found to be compatible with polypropylene, while another shows evidence of compatibility with a polyvinyl chloride-based instrument panel skin.
