Prop-Fan/Turboprop Acoustic Terminology

In this paper the terms used in the discussion of Prop-Fan and turboprop noise are defined. Background information necessary for understanding these terms is also presented. Terms used in the discussion of source noise, noise propagation, airplane noise certification, and airplane cabin noise are included. A discussion of special noise units used in the evaluation of airplane noise is also included.
