The European automotive industry has joined forces in the PROMETHEUS research and development project. The purpose of PROMETHEUS is to increase traffic safety, economy and efficiency and to reduce the environmental impacts of road traffic by applying modern information and communication technology. Working in close cooperation with the electronics and supplier industries, basic research and public authorities, the Prometheus team is now well on the way to designing the integrated European road traffic system for the next century.
