Presidential Address of the Society of Automotive Engineers of Korea--State of the Automotive Engineering Profession in Korea

During its short history, the Korean automotive industry has achieved remarkable progress in both production output and technological development. However, associated with this progress has been a slight yet noticeable lag in the level of technological development as compared to the increase in production volume. As a result, each Korean automaker has established its own R&D center to conduct vigorous research in technological innovation. In turn, these R&D center will hopefully lure many qualified engineers being turned out by the school each year, and eventually develope a sound research establishment.

The SAE-Korea was established not long ago, and until now its activities has been somewhat limited. It is expected that SAE-Korea will play an increasingly important role in the development of Korean automobile technology, by supplying valuable informations to local industries, and also by frequent contact with SAE's of other countries
