Abstract
Content
DEVELOPMENT, TESTING AND FIELD EXPERIENCE of an engine program covering an output range of 530-3000 kW for rail traction applications designed for arctic and other severe climatic conditions, and where special demands on reliability are set by users. These medium-speed engines offer the output needed with less cylinders and better fuel economy than normally expected when high-speed engines are used.
NEW DESIGNS AND ADVANCED DIESEL ENGINE MONITORING SYSTEMS have also been developed in order to minimize maintenance requirements.
