- Compressor is one of major rotating component in AC system and purpose of compressor is to increase the pressure of refrigerant and circulate the refrigerant across the system. Swash plate compressor is generally used on automotive AC application due to its light weight and compact size. Compressor torque for specific capacity need to be evaluated based on simulation result. Modeling and simulation are the key enablers to improve the design and development process of automotive industry. They are extensively used all along the development cycle.MBD based simulation is more commonly used which gives better understanding of the movement of the parts and reaction forces which will help in providing the information for the CAE analysis also. Many parameters like reaction forces, Compressor torque and power varying with compressor angle of rotation is predicted using MBD and analyzed. Rigid and Flexible body MBD analysis are generally used for evaluation of the behavior of the model as it shows the structural integrity as well as the kinematic behavior of the component. Suction and discharge induced pressure on the compressor induces stresses on the moving parts which is measured using analysis. This will give better understanding on the durability of the compressor under dynamic conditions.
