- Content
- This paper describes alternate material designs of body panels for a front-wheel drive compact car. The results identify the potential mass savings and the corresponding material cost penalties for all the body panels when composite materials suitable for high-volume production (glass-SMC and carbon-SMC) and aluminum are substituted for mild steel.
