Portable Wire Insertion Machine

The Portable Wire Insertion Machine (Patent(s) Pending) relates to wire insertion systems for assisting a user in assembling wires to an electrical connector. More particularly, to a portable system that illuminates specific wire holes of a connector to precisely identify for a user the exact connector hole that a selected wire is to be inserted into during assembly of a wiring harness. The cavity in an electrical connector corresponding to the target insertion point for a given wire is illuminated with a laser spot. A wire harness assembly database is configured to send out positional coordinate data upon wire selection. Linear actuators with smart motor technology will position the laser spot to the desired location. This is accomplished without additional operating software by configuring the database to send out data in machine language. The process is further complicated by the vast variation in connector body shapes and sizes. A self centering device provides quick and easy positioning for over 3,500 different connectors. This machine affords the individual assembling wiring harnesses a portable tool that locates connectors and highlights the target location for the insertion of each wire.
