The Platform Maintenance Environment

This paper is provided to inform the reader of activities related to automated maintenance applications that are currently underway within PEO (Program Executive Office) Aviation. The Aviation Commonality and Interoperability Branch (ACIB) for PEO Aviation has been tasked to enhance applications where applicable and integrate current capabilities in order to comply with directives from the SECDEF (Secretary of Defense) and Vice Chief of Staff of the Army focused on both improving maintenance information at the aircraft platform and reducing preventable accidents. It is our intent to provide the aircraft maintainers with an enhanced logbook and additional applications on a single Aircraft Notebook (ACN) to address the requirement to improve information related to maintenance activities. This ACN will also gather data from the platform's Digital Source Collector (DSC) format it and send it to a variety of unit and enterprise level systems in place to enhance maintenance, operations, safety and training (MOST) for the platforms.
