Abstract

Content: The trend in modern diesel engines is toward steadily increasing cylinder pressure. This paper addresses one problem which is a result of the pressure increase, piston pin bore cracking. It specifically addresses pin bore treatments and their effect on the fatigue limit of the pin bore.
