Abstract

Content: Experience with an experimental high-speed, oversquare V8 diesel engine and its effect on the design of a production unit is described. Changes were introduced to make the engine undersquare and operate at lower speeds in order t o improve torque output and fuel consumption. Construction details and performance figures for the engine are given.
