Authors Abstract
Content
The challenges which face industry today have placed increased emphasis upon quality control functions related to pre-production planning. Product quality can be realized only by specific programs directed towards the marshalling of the people forces of an organization for quality achievement. The modern quality control engineer will interface with other corporate activities such as styling, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, and purchasing to assure satisfactory product quality. This paper will describe some of the techniques adopted by American Motors' quality control activities to facilitate attainment of quality objectives on new products introduced to the marketplace.
