In the advent of computer application for automotive design and testing, the automotive sector has take the maximum advantages of it and developed to an unimaginable extent. In the Automotive systems, braking system is a of the complicated one, which is to be efficiently designed and tested for safe and reliable operation. In the recent scenario, disc brake is widely used in automobiles because of its simplicity in design, safe in operation and less cost. These simpler disc brakes can be efficiently designed and tested virtually using an appropriate computer code, based on this concept of “Genetic Algorithm”.
In this study, a virtual design code was generated for the brake disc system of a four wheeled passenger comfort vehicle using genetic algorithm. This code is cable of yielding the virtual design performance parameters very closer to the practical limits. The evolved parameters were analyzed and presented graphically at the end.
