In the Baja competition, the racing cars need to run under a variety of complex off-road conditions such as pebble road, shell pit, the road with many broken stones, hump, water puddle and so on,in the endurance race,the driver even has to drive continuously for four hours. In the process of this high-intensity and high-concentration race, the irrational designs of cab in ergonomics will easily cause the driver's visual and handling fatigue, so that the driver's attention is not concentrated,and cause the security accidents. Moreover, the lower back pain, sciatic nerve discomfort, lumbar spine diseases and other occupational diseases are basically caused by uncomfortable driving posture and unreasonable manipulation interface, and these have a lot to do with unreasonable ergonomic designs. In order to solve the unreasonable designs of the cab in ergonomics and improve the safety and comfort of the driver, first of all, establish the overall model of BSC racing car in Catia to obtain a virtual simulation environment. Then measure the body dimensions of several drivers in practice, and utilize the mathematical software Matlab to fit the relevant data to determine and the position of comfortable crossing point H. After this, use the ergonomic simulation software Jack to build a 3D human body model according to the measured body size of the driver, convert BSC racing car to. wrl file and import it into the software Jack , and adjust with the established human body model, then carry out the visual field, reachable area and comfort simulation analysis. In the end, optimize and improve the existing problems in the cab designs based on the corresponding evaluation criteria of ergonomics and the competition rules of Baja Competition,and conduct the simulation verification again once more, so as to improve the driving comfort and safety, provide a more scientific and effective cab optimization formula, and offer the experience and technical reference for the future development and progress of Baja racing cars. As the results show, the cab designs without ergonomic simulation analysis often have irrational problems,which will have a negative impact on the driver's comfort and safety. From these two simulations, it is obvious that after optimizing the cab by ergonomic engineering, the driver's vision, operation and comfort have been significantly improved when driving, thus ensuring the safety of driving, and there is no doubt that it proves that it is effective and necessary to study the ergonomic optimization of the cab as well.
