ABSTRACT
New mission requirements will soon overtake the automotive and mission equipment capabilities of electric power systems in tactical and combat vehicles used by the U.S. Army. Incorporating emerging technologies into both existing and new vehicles will allow the vehicles to meet these requirements, facilitate reductions in formation sizes, and make the Army more mobile. When combined, these factors have the potential to improve both the readiness and effectiveness of both vehicles and vehicle formations.
