Abstract
Content
Approaches that have been, and are being used, in manned spacecraft to prevent flammability and offgassing problems are reviewed. An accounting method and computer program are discussed which allow updated determinations of all materials used on a vehicle, in the light of changing material uses on the vehicle and revised test data in the nation. Across-the-board measures that have been employed on the Airlock Module for preventing flammability are also discussed. Some of the problems in specifying and controlling materials are enumerated.
