Authors Abstract
Content
The research's scope is to create a method for the definition, analysis and engineering of effective solutions for the ergonomic improvement in transportation field, with particular reference to new security apparel. In order to ensure success of analysis and of the possible solutions proposed, we believe it is necessary to adopt a line of procedure that involves the participation and work division of both drivers staff and that of the technicians and the maintenance workers. The applied method is based on different phases: Acquire data from studies in the field and similar studies; evaluate the driver's activity; acquire data directly throughout field investigation; analyze the collected data and definition of the comfort parameters related with the job; reconstruct driving cabs and elaborate data in a Virtual Environment; verify the ergonomics of the cab; check alternative lay-out solutions to optimize personnel job and costs; engineer development of the individuated technical solutions.
