Designing an industrial facility that embodies the technology and flexibility necessary to accommodate the changing demands of the marketplace requires a re-examination of the traditional facility design approach. The A. Epstein companies, which provide a broad range of consulting services and construction management worldwide, are redefining the traditional facility design process in conjunction with a number of their clients. Elements of their approach include a significant broadening of the design team and of the relationship between client and consultant, and an expansion of the scope of client concerns that are considered during design. This involves an in-depth examination of the manner in which the client runs his business and of the impacts a new facility can make on improving operations. Finally, CADD, which plays a large role in the execution of these projects, has caused the A. Epstein companies to rethink the way they do business and the services they provide to clients.
