The 500 mile race in Indianapolis is called the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing”. Each year, Indy Car teams gather at the Speedway to try and find enough speed to make the 33 car field. To make the show, the car must be capable of averaging over 220 mph. To safely achieve these speeds, the components of these cars must be free from the defects that could lead to structural failures. During the month of May, volunteers from across the country will spend their free time to come to Indy and perform nondestructive testing inspections on Indy Car Parts.
