Authors Abstract
Content
Modal testing of plastic scale models is used in the automotive industry to verify finite element models and to predict the dynamics of a full size structure during the design cycle. This paper describes several challenges associated with plastic model testing and analytical correlations and addresses these challenges by using a scanning laser vibrometer system. Measurements and modal analysis results from a test performed on a scale truck cab model are presented.
