Milestones in the Application of Power to Agricultural Machines

This paper lists and discusses the important milestones, as judged by the authors, in the application of internal combustion engine power to agricultural machines, particularly tractors. An evaluation of the efficiency of fuel use and the productivity of farm workers is included. Where possible the individual or company responsible for first introducing the selected milestone is cited.
