- A complete methodological approach for the virtual design of heatshield components is described, aimed at both reducing the project development time frame and at adding, at the same time, a vibro-acoustical content to their thermal functions. Applied to a specific component nowadays in the production, the method is based on an strengthened simulation phase consisting: an optimisation loop focussed on specific target achievement has been established. Only the virtual prototype deriving from the final cycle is practically realised and experimentally validated according to the classical tests.
