Metal Injection Molding (MIM) process offers high performance alloys in sophisticated part geometries that help meet the extreme environmental and performance demands of GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection), High-Pressure Fuel Injection for Diesel and Gasoline Engines, Turbocharger, Variable Valve train, and Air Bag applications. This paper will specifically address design characteristics of MIM components, material development possibilities, and the reduction of a parts weight.
