Measurement Systems and the SAE

This paper describes the problem of dual measurement systems in the world, the metric and the English. SAE is one of several groups who have recently developed conversion guides between the two systems. The development of the SAE report on metric equivalents is described, and examples of its use given. Also touched upon is the need for a U. S. metric practice guide which might be recognized by all scientific and engineering groups.
