THE MATERIALS INFORMATION STATUS AND NEEDS OF THE TRUCKING INDUSTRY

This paper discusses the materials information needs of the trucking industry. The current materials information database “systems” are described and contrasted with a computerized, machine-readable database. The general families of materials that should be included in the computerized database are listed along with the types of data required and a listing of the required computer program functional characteristics.
