The US Army Aviation Research and Development Command, under the direction of the Army Materiel Development and Acquisition Command, has implemented a program to identify potential and actual materials properties and uses that adversely affect the service life of Army aviation equipment. This paper presents a status of this ongoing effort with specific examples of how the program is implemented and some actual cases which will illustrate the results of "typical" MADPAC problems and the approaches to the solutions to these problems. A variety of aircraft systems are included which indicates that the topic - MADPAC - is not exclusive to any system, manufacturer or user environment.
