- Accurate compensation of magnetic measurement errors is one of the key factors in ensuring the accuracy of geomagnetic navigation. Magnetic sensors are susceptible to temperature drift during use due to the disturbance of external ambient temperature, which affects the accuracy of magnetic field measurement. To improve the precision of the tri-axis geomagnetic sensor, a suitable thermal error compensation algorithm must be designed to process measured data correctly. Thus, a temperature compensation model and a high-precision geomagnetic directional technology were proposed in this paper. Firstly, a tri-axis geomagnetic sensor temperature compensation model based on particle swarm optimization-least squares support vector machines (PSO-LSSVM) was established. Then the inertial measurement unit (IMU) data is processed with zero drift correction and filtering. Finally, geomagnetic directional experiments were conducted with the gradient descent method. The experimental results show that the proposed temperature error compensation method can effectively alleviate the impact of thermal variations on the detector output and enhance the precision of the geomagnetic orientation system. It is expected to be applied to multiple navigations, aviation, and aerospace fields.
