McDonnell Douglas Helicopter Systems(MDHS), based in Mesa, Arizona, as a division of McDonnell Douglas Aerospace - Tactical Aircraft and Missile Systems (MDATAMS), embraces the concept of Integrated Product Definition (IPD). This paper deals with the application of this concept to the redesignof a large structural component of the AH-64D Longbow Apache for cost reduction.
