Abstract
Content
This paper presents what is considered to be the optimum fuel tank inerting system for commercial transport aircraft. It stresses the inherent simplicity made possible by use of liquid nitrogen for the source of inert gas. It also reviews some of the fundamentals involved in removing oxygen from fuel and presents a new concept for removing dissolved oxygen from fuel with no moving parts and no additional nitrogen.
