Lightweight Metal Rubber Electrical Cables

Lightweight electrical cables have been fabricated using Metal Rubber materials. Metal Rubber is a low mass density, low Young's modulus and electrically conducting nanocomposite material. This combination of properties allows it to be used as a replacement for solid metal conductors typically used in electrical wire and cable. This paper reports the results of preliminary experiments involving the fabrication and testing of cables based on Metal Rubber materials.
